Batch Notes

Check your bottle for the batch number,
then come and check Rick’s notes.

  Records 1 to 10 of 10

Batch 1 — This will be a collector's item. It has the full range of sweet and nutty first-notes and a finish that lingers long after the glass has been set down. It was distilled in February 2006, bottled August 2006. It was aged in position number 4 on the north wall and comes from a single barrel.  -

Batch 2 — A delicious whisky! Comes from two barrels positions 4 & 5 on the north wall of the barrel room. A very slight increase in the cherrywood effect gives it a hint more spiciness—some said cinnamon—but all Wasmund's. 432 bottles.

Batch 3 — A very sweeet dram—smooth as Wasmund's. Another excellent batch comprising three barrels. Aged in position 5 on the north wall and positions 7 & 8 on the east wall. Distilled in February and early March of 2006. 727 bottles of smooth.

Batch 4 — Similar to #3; This batch came from 2 barrels positions 7 & 8 on the east wall. We added a touch more new oak in one of the barrels that results in a subtle flavoring that might appeal more to a bourbon drinker. But make no mistake, it is still sweet and smooth and all Wasmund's! 240 bottles.

Batch 5 — Another two barrel batch of delicious barley nectar—both from position 3 on the north wall. Very similar to batch #3, but with a slightly fuller body. I am very pleased with this one. 234 bottles.

Batch 6 — Batch six came from two barrels on the north wall and one from the west. A slightly creamier version of #4.  544 bottles.

Batch 7 — 4 barrels: 1 west, 1 north and 2 east. Very well balanced and delicious with a splash of cool spring water.  1017 bottles of the sweetest Wasmund's yet.

Batch 8 — This batch came from 3 barrels from the west wall. Notes of honey, vanilla, leather and watermelon on the nose. On the palate, very well balanced between the sweet and the dry as the result of the different woods in the aging process. Typical Wasmund's enticing finish that grabs the tastebuds and whispers "let's dance some more." Stands up well to a splash of water.  526 bottles.

Batch 9 — I don't want to appear overconfident but this stuff is also great. Side by side with #8 it is hard to tell a difference. Maybe #9 is a little bit spicier (in a good way) but even so most of our tasters were unable to pick a favorite. A winner in every aspect—6 barrels from all around the warehouse contributed their spirit to our cause.  1320 bottles.

Batch 10 — Notes to come... -
